The Limited 2027 Hummer EV ICON Heads to Canada and the U.S!
Posted on September 18, 2026
GMC is celebrating 25 years of the HUMMER nameplate with a limited-run electric model that blends recognizable heritage with the capability of today's all-electric supertruck. The 2027 GMC HUMMER EV ICON | 25 brings back an H2-inspired yellow exterior while adding exclusive design details, a serialized dashboard badge and a special keepsake.
The ICON | 25 will be offered on both the HUMMER EV Pickup and SUV, with availability across 2X and 3X trims in Canada and the United States. GMC currently expects limited quantities to become available in early 2027, although production volume, pricing and exact on-sale dates have not yet been announced.
A Modern Take on the H2's Signature Yellow

The most noticeable feature is the ICON exterior colour, a contemporary interpretation of the recognizable yellow associated with the HUMMER H2. Rather than simply recreating the past, GMC uses the colour to give the electric HUMMER a distinctive anniversary identity.
The yellow finish is paired with a black front approach shield, creating a strong contrast against the body. The ICON | 25 also receives new 22-inch wheels with a Deep Void finish and HUMMER EV lettering on the centre caps. On the SUV, an ICON Yellow insert is also used on the spare wheel and tire cover.
This combination gives the special edition a clear visual connection to HUMMER history without changing the fundamentally futuristic character of the electric Pickup and SUV.
Heritage Details Continue Inside

The anniversary theme carries into the cabin with a new Jet Black interior, the first black interior colourway offered on the HUMMER EV. A serialized ICON | 25 badge on the passenger-side instrument panel gives each vehicle a special identity, reinforcing its limited-edition status.
GMC also adds unique infotainment graphics inspired by earlier HUMMER models. Each ICON | 25 will come with an exclusive keepsake celebrating the 25th anniversary, adding another collectible element to the package.
Importantly, these changes are primarily about design and heritage rather than creating a separate powertrain. The ICON | 25 is available across the existing 2X and 3X configurations of both body styles.
What Is New Across the 2027 HUMMER EV Lineup?
The ICON | 25 may be the headline model, but GMC is also making meaningful updates throughout the wider 2027 HUMMER EV lineup.
One of the biggest changes is the move to a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) inlet. This means 2027 HUMMER EV models will have the NACS connector built into the vehicle rather than requiring an adapter for compatible NACS charging stations. That can make charging more convenient for Canadian drivers travelling longer distances between cities and communities.
The HUMMER EV will also continue to offer available vehicle-to-home (V2H) bidirectional charging. When properly equipped with GM Energy hardware and a compatible home setup, the vehicle can supply electricity to a home during an outage.
For Ontario drivers, this technology could be particularly interesting during severe weather or unexpected power interruptions, although home installation requirements and equipment compatibility need to be considered before relying on V2H as a backup-power solution.
Up to 1,160 Horsepower for Maximum Performance
Performance remains central to the HUMMER EV's identity. The 3X Pickup with the available 24-module battery can deliver up to 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 lb.-ft. of torque, with 0-to-60-mph acceleration in as little as 2.8 seconds when equipped with the appropriate performance configuration.
Beyond straight-line acceleration, the HUMMER EV continues to emphasize off-road capability. Available features include 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk and King Crab, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Extract Mode, which can raise the vehicle by approximately six inches to help negotiate challenging obstacles. Available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance and the Infinity Roof with removable Sky Panels further broaden its technology and adventure appeal.
The 2027 lineup also introduces additional exterior colour choices, including ICON, Dark Ridge, Azurite Blue, Dark Ember and Deep Void Matte, along with two new 22-inch wheel designs.
When Can Canadian Buyers Get the ICON | 25?
GMC has confirmed that the 2027 HUMMER EV and ICON | 25 will be sold in Canada and the U.S., with production scheduled to begin later in 2026 at GM's Factory ZERO Assembly Center in Michigan. GMC currently indicates expected availability for the ICON | 25 in early 2027.
However, buyers should keep one important point in mind: GMC has not yet announced the production volume, Canadian pricing or exact on-sale date for the ICON | 25. Availability is expected to be limited, so interested shoppers should watch for additional Canadian-market information as the launch approaches.
